What a day done right! Morning coffee with Justine, @rek & @neauoire,touching on virtual assets exceeding the cost of concrete ones, the marvelous pursuit, induction cooking and the arbitrary depth of minimal computing — something like : since all of them are virtual, you can go all the way to the tarmac (DIY 1 operator & stack machine) or all syntactic sugar you desired with corresponding nuclear power plant required for your build. #pickyourpoison
The paper was hiding a Film Shoot's set decoration. I'll keep you posted, as to if the store survives.
Since my 1st _wonderings_ in #Vancouver #ChinaTown the hold out of gentrification has been this shop front — Tosi's sun bleached windows has been unchanged for more than 20 years. For the brave one can(/could?) ring the bell and wait for the aged proprietor to venture slowly down and open up the door to museum dry like interior, in which one can(/could?) order salami, olive oil or Parmesan cheese, from an imagined menu derived from that sun drenched immovable exterior ... now papered over.
@izzysawdust stunning!
@rutherford looking lovely. keelback!
@neauoire end of an era! What is the next one?
@nomand @cone pretty (minimal)! Something I I've wanted to try out for these bare bone case (especially the vertical style designs, is to use a stretchy fabric cover/bag to 1. dust protect them, 2. Finish them off with a minimal look, 3. Provide a enclosure which will expand/contract to the configuration. 4.provide easy access. Do you think it would work? #sff #pleasestealthisidea #enclosure
@neauoire @rutherford I used the → (right arrow html symbol,) after links to external sites, in my personal website. Good to know others felt the need to express this (rather large IMO) difference. Also glad a standard is emerging.
As part of my research into the diverse views on sustainability and ICT, I wrote a paper about edge computing and greenwashing.
'Refusing the Burden of Computation: Edge Computing and Sustainable ICT' is published in the open access, online APRJA journal's issue on research refusal.

@rek where is this?, though you were in Vancouver already, with this post.

My #swimming hole for the last, 4 days on #ṮEḴTEḴSEN (East Point, Saturna Island) 8am with Joni and Mark ... #SwimClub the 1st Rule of SwimClub, is talk about SwimClub the 2nd Rule is you don't need to Swim at SwimClub.
@neauoire @klardotsh proof I'm here, Shell Beach is lovely, only problem for boats is it's on a the other side of Boat Pass — a tricky tide race.
@neauoire perfect the Pub, is just to next to the Lyall Harbour ferry Terminal (to the right from the sea) and there is a marina to the left of the ferry dock.
@neauoire sounds good, i'm on island thurs eve to monday, staying on east point road with Saturna Island resident and playing with SIMRES'
(Saturna Island Marine Research & Education Society) hydrophones during the day.
@neauoire forecast is pretty good, will be there 5:30pm onward. Fair Winds.
@neauoire yes exactly
